Last Thursday night, it was a whooping 8 degree Fahrenheit in New York City. But that didn’t stop the art lovers from turning out to attend the Atlantic Gallery’s “Over the Bridge” exhibition in Chelsea. I was fortunate to have two paintings in this show, along with 38 other Long Island City artists. The wine was flowing, the crowd was enthusiastic and the art was excellent. I’ve included photographs of that night “before” and “during” the opening to show you the crush. There is still plenty of time to see the exhibition on display until January 17th at Atlantic Gallery, Suite 540, 548 West 28th Street, New York City.
I’m so excited! I am exhibiting in my first Chelsea art gallery in New York City. I feel like the Chelsea neighborhood is the heart of contemporary art in the Big Apple. Please stop by the “OVER THE BRIDGE” show at the Atlantic Gallery between January 5-17. Join me at the artists’ reception on January 8, 2015! Atlantic Gallery is located at 548 West 28th Street, Suite 540, New York, NY.
One of my favorite things is attending art openings, especially if I’m one of the exhibiting artists. Add a little champagne to the mix, and the evening is perfect. Unfortunately, I was out-of-town for this opening so no champagne for me :(. However, an artist friend of mine, Marjorie Van Cura, also had work in the show. She snapped some photos of the event to share with me. “Circle Invasion”, the long blue painting happily sold two days before the opening. That’s worth toasting with champagne! The exhibition continues through August 31 so drop by Madelyn Jordon Fine Art Gallery at 37 Popham Rd, Scarsdale, New York (open Tuesday-Saturday) to view some interesting contemporary art at excellent prices.
