I’m so excited! I am exhibiting in my first Chelsea art gallery in New York City. I feel like the Chelsea neighborhood is the heart of contemporary art in the Big Apple. Please stop by the “OVER THE BRIDGE” show at the Atlantic Gallery between January 5-17. Join me at the artists’ reception on January 8, 2015! Atlantic Gallery is located at 548 West 28th Street, Suite 540, New York, NY.
One of my favorite things is attending art openings, especially if I’m one of the exhibiting artists. Add a little champagne to the mix, and the evening is perfect. Unfortunately, I was out-of-town for this opening so no champagne for me :(. However, an artist friend of mine, Marjorie Van Cura, also had work in the show. She snapped some photos of the event to share with me. “Circle Invasion”, the long blue painting happily sold two days before the opening. That’s worth toasting with champagne! The exhibition continues through August 31 so drop by Madelyn Jordon Fine Art Gallery at 37 Popham Rd, Scarsdale, New York (open Tuesday-Saturday) to view some interesting contemporary art at excellent prices.
Still looking for something fun to do during the day this weekend? Check out the Long Island City Arts Open and visit my open studio (Reis Studios, 43-01 22nd St., LIC) as well as 160 others. Click here for details.
The 4th Annual LIC Arts Open is happening May 14-18 and it is the biggest open yet. Over 160 artists will open their studio doors for the Open Studios weekend. The full 2014 Festival Guide is found HERE. Simply put, it’s a massive party with music, art, dance and even a light show. For my part, I will be hosting an open studio this Saturday and Sunday (May 17 & 18) from 12 – 5 pm. Please stop by to take a peek. There are over 160 open studios so it is well worth the trip. I’m in the Reis Studios Building (Studio 225) at 43-01 22nd Street, LIC. It’s a breeze to get here, just one subway stop outside of Manhattan, (an easy drive here as well but limited parking). Directions are here with information including how to use the free shuttle once you get here. I’ve got some paintings on sale too so stop by for a great deal.
