mixed media (acrylic, paper, ink, and molding paste)
8” x 8” on stretched canvas
After watching the Masters golf tournament one year, I couldn’t get those beautiful dogwoods out of my mind. Spring was in the air, and I was in the mood to create some flowers. This painting was so fun to create with it glorious texture. I started using strips of painted rice paper for the background. I sculpted the thick dogwood petals out of molding paste, and collaged paper on for the leaves, stems, and berries. I’m surprised they haven’t popped off the canvas!
