Atlantic Gallery

I’m so excited!  I am  exhibiting in my first Chelsea art gallery in New York City. I feel like the Chelsea neighborhood is the heart of contemporary art in the Big Apple.  Please stop by the “OVER THE BRIDGE” show at the Atlantic Gallery between January 5-17. Join me at the artists’ reception on January 8, 2015!  Atlantic Gallery is located at 548 West 28th Street, Suite 540, New York, NY.

Red dots for everyone

About a month ago, I wrote a post about the coveted “red dot”… the mark a gallery puts on a painting’s title when it sells but before they take it down to deliver it to a collector.  I had one sale or “red dot” at the Madelyn Jordon Fine Art Gallery‘s  “Summer Remix” group exhibition this summer.  I just got the good news that another painting of mine at the exhibition has sold.  Another  red dot!  I love those little suckers!  I wish I could pass out red dots for everyone!

If you are anywhere near Scarsdale, New York this summer, I have a treat for you.  The Madelyn Jordon Fine Art Gallery is taking this summer as an opportunity to showcase fresh ideas from their gallery artists and introduce you to fresh new artists.  The “fresh new artists” is where I come in.  You can see my painting “Circle Invasion” in the show plus some great work by my studio neighbor Marjorie Van Cura, also well as others.

I'm feeling so "hip" and "cool".

I finally figured out how to download the photos out of my husband’s new camera. Here are a couple photos from the Greenpoint Gallery opening. They had a band and a bar on one gallery floor and a DJ on the other floor. It was a “happening” scene! My youngest daughter  thought it was so “hip” (though I’m sure she didn’t use that term) and for the briefest moment I felt very “cool” (once again, my age is showing). My two daughters shown here, with Darby hiding from the paparazzi.

Only small work need apply!

I have a painting on exhibition in the National Association of Women Artists’ (N.A.W.A.) “Small Works Exhibition” in New York City this month.  I just dropped off my work at their offices in Greenwich Village and I got an early peek at some of the other paintings in the show.  I saw lots of terrific smaller scale work (largest size of 15″ x 15″ x 5″).  The “Small Works Show” allows art lovers to buy affordable art by talented and prolific professional women artists from all over the United States. N.A.W.A.’s mission has always been to give underrepresented women artists numerous opportunities for exhibiting their work. The exhibition runs from February 5-26 with the opening reception on February 12 from 5-7 pm.

Location: N.A.W.A. Gallery, 80 Fifth Avenue, Suite 1405, N.Y.C., NY 10011
