"The Visual Language of Contemporary Art"

Here’s a peek at the five large paintings I have hanging at the TriCounty Artist of Long Island‘s current exhibition at the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, New York.   “The Visual Language of Contemporary Art” exhibition hangs in the Wisser Memorial Library where it held an artists’ reception this past Sunday .

I enjoyed attending the show and getting to talk to all the great folks who showed up to view my paintings and the artwork of five other talent artists.  The show runs through May 10, so stop by if you’re in the area.  I love this “artsy” photo I shot of me with my paintings using the mirrors across the room (even if it does make me look wider than I am tall =).

Visiting Portland

VooDoo Donuts

The gallery show “Abstract Sanctuary” opened last week at the Vernum Ultimum Art Gallery in Portland, Oregon.  I was one of 25 pieces selected by jury (out of almost 400 submissions) and it’s an amazing collection of abstract art, all at great prices.  David and I flew out to see the show this weekend and our adult son joined us.   The exhibition runs through March 30th, so stop by if you’re in the area.  Here’s my son and I checking out the art.

Portland is a great city to explore.  Though it did rain the entire time, we still got out to explore the sights and sample some great food.  We even swung by Voo Doo Donuts to pick up one of their unique creations, a bacon and maple bar.

It doesn't get better than this

Having family and friends support my efforts as an artist is paramount to my success and happiness. Here’s a photo David perusing the show just as the gallery opened this morning. After, he kissed me and told me how proud he was of me. It doesn’t get better than that!

The “Small Works Exhibition” at the National Association of Women Artists Gallery in New York City ends tomorrow. Last chance to see some great pieces at very affordable prices. Open from 10 am to 5 pm at 80 W. Fifth Avenue, #1405.

Only small work need apply!

I have a painting on exhibition in the National Association of Women Artists’ (N.A.W.A.) “Small Works Exhibition” in New York City this month.  I just dropped off my work at their offices in Greenwich Village and I got an early peek at some of the other paintings in the show.  I saw lots of terrific smaller scale work (largest size of 15″ x 15″ x 5″).  The “Small Works Show” allows art lovers to buy affordable art by talented and prolific professional women artists from all over the United States. N.A.W.A.’s mission has always been to give underrepresented women artists numerous opportunities for exhibiting their work. The exhibition runs from February 5-26 with the opening reception on February 12 from 5-7 pm.

Location: N.A.W.A. Gallery, 80 Fifth Avenue, Suite 1405, N.Y.C., NY 10011
