I’ve always lived at the intersection of art and science. My dad was a physicist who built furniture and gardens for fun; my mom’s a microbiologist and master quilter. So it felt natural that I’d win an art scholarship—but major in civil engineering. To me, creativity and logic have never been opposites, just different ways of seeing the world.

That balance shows up in my artwork. I start with structure—a grid, a framework, a sense of order—then let it loosen and overflow with organic shapes, color, and motion. I love the beauty that happens when control meets chaos, like railway tracks overgrown with wildflowers or a musical score scattered with unexpected notes.

My paintings explore that harmony between the natural and the constructed, between what’s planned and what unfolds. The result is bold, lively artwork where both sides—science and art—find their rhythm together.
